Overview
This page sets out how intellectual property in written content is handled between WordHarbour Studio and the client.
Ownership on payment
Ownership of the final, approved content transfers to the client after the engagement fee has been paid in full. Until full payment, all rights remain with WordHarbour Studio.
Drafts and working materials
Drafts, unused concepts, planning notes and internal working documents remain the property of WordHarbour Studio unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
Third-party materials
Third-party materials — such as licensed images, quoted text or statistics — remain subject to their original licences and copyright. The client is responsible for confirming any licences required before publication.
Portfolio use
Anonymised excerpts may be used in demonstration samples on this website. Identifiable client work is only used with prior permission.
Client responsibility for publication
Final factual accuracy, regulatory compliance and legal review before publication are the client's responsibility. This includes claims made about products, services or third parties.
Moral rights
Where legally applicable, the writer's moral rights are asserted in relation to the work. Formal author credit is not required unless separately agreed.
Existing client material
Any material supplied by the client remains the client's property. It is used only to prepare the agreed deliverables and is not shared with third parties.
